Brenda Michiko Kelly was
born in
Honolulu, Hawaii on January
13, 1959, which makes her a Capricorn. She grew up in the
Seattle area
and now lives in LA.
Brenda
started her competition career in the National Aerobic Championships in
1989. She holds three regional gold medals and 1 national medal.
Brenda ran fitness and aerobic programs as well as taught exercise
classes of all levels for 17 years. When Brenda wanted a challenge she
turned her attentions to Women's Fitness. She started training when she was
39 years old with weights and coaches to build a fitness routine and a
fitness physique.
Brenda's first contest was the NPC Northwest Women's Fitness and
Bodybuilding show held in
Portland, Oregon.
She came away from her first show with two perfect physique rounds and a
total score to win the 1998 Women's Fitness Championship! She qualified for
the NPC Nationals on her first shot. |

Brenda went on to the 1998 Montana Fitness America Pageant regional
and made the top 5 there to qualify for the Fitness America Pageant
Nationals as well. She competed in her first Nationals in Fitness America
1998 just to get her National feet wet.
Spring of 1999 had
Brenda perfecting her National Fitness routine at the Vancouver Natural show
where she came in second by 1 point and later at the 1999 Emerald Cup where
she placed second to Nicole Rollolazo who later was to become the 2000
Fitness America National Champion.
Brenda went to the NPC USA Nationals in 1999 and placed sixth after
making the first call outs in the physique rounds.
She later went to
the 1999 NPC Nationals in Orlando and ended her year in that organization
placing eighth. |

Brenda's motto: Extend yourselves in body and
mind. One cannot excel without the other.

Labor Day
1999 Brenda competed in the popular televised Fitness America ESPN2 Summer
Series in Miami Beach. Later at the 1999 Fitness America Nationals Brenda
scored in the twenties out of one hundred and twenty girls.
While
getting ready for her 2000 NPC season, Fitness America called Brenda and
asked her to be one of the fifteen chosen girls to start the inaugural
International Fitness Universe Pageant PRO circuit. The first PRO Show was
in Miami. Brenda placed seventh in her first PRO appearance. She went to the
2000 Universe Pageant, the 2000 Mediterranean Pageant in Italy, competed in
the 2000 National Pageant and filmed the 2000 ESPN2 series where she placed
first in the swimsuit round.
Brenda
signed on with Ironman Magazine to represent their supplement line,
Muscle-Link. She has appeared on two Covers, been featured in the 2000, 2001
Special Edition Lingerie Issues and Videos. Her current Cover is the April
2002 Ironman Magazine issue. |

Brenda has a column in Natural Muscle Magazine and is busy fitness
modeling for magazines and her website,
Brendakelly.com. Brenda has been
hosting fitness events and interviewing celebrities for documentaries
pursuing her new trade; acting.
Fitness contests
are on the back burner because of her move to LA to create a new acting
career. Auditions, photo shoots and traveling take up most of Brenda's time.
Brenda's main focus is with her agency where she is getting work for TV
commercials and has landed a part in an upcoming Sci-fi Movie! Stay tuned.
